Ünsal, who also gave an assessment of the construction sector for 2023, said: ''2023 was a year full of various difficulties for the real estate market. The February 6 earthquake, economic fluctuations, changes in interest rates and rising costs significantly affected the course of the real estate sector and considerably reduced home purchase rates. Along with housing being the safest harbor among all investment instruments, and considering the need arising from the growing population and migration, I think demand for housing will continue to increase. I believe that the real estate sector will pick up in 2024 and that demand for housing will rise starting from the second quarter.'' Regarding the investment volume targeted by FUYAPI in the coming years, he concluded his remarks by saying: ''All in Kuşadası, we built 400 independent units on 17,000 m² in 2019 and on a total area of 103,000 m² today. Looking at the overall picture, although Turkey's annual housing need is around 900 thousand, an average of 600 thousand homes have been produced in recent years. Based on this, we can say that low production is the biggest factor increasing housing prices. Taking the need for real estate into account, between 2025 and 2035 we aim to further increase housing production with 4000 independent units, including in the regions of Kuşadası, Çeşme, Bodrum and Antalya, and to expand the investment volume in our country.''
